Melton's Restaurant

Michael & Lucy Hjort opened Melton’s in 1990. Melton’s is a fine dining restaurant serving modern British food and it was Michael’s position as Chef Proprietor, which made it one of York’s leading restaurant. The kitchen is now lead by Head Chef Calvin Miller, who has worked with Michael for over 14 years. Melton’s continues to be featured in The Michelin Guide, and in September 2025 was awarded a Third AA Rosette.
