Shipley Art Gallery

The art of fine events. Originally built to house the art collection of Joseph Shipley, the Shipley Art Gallery is an architectural jewel in the heart of Gateshead. The gallery is an excellent example of Edwardian architecture, which would add grandeur, and a sense of occasion to a range of corporate and private events Ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. Our elegant main gallery space is licensed for wedding parties of up to 120 guests and can also accommodate up to 120 guests for a drinks reception. The smaller side galleries are also licensed for more intimate groups of up to 15 guests and can be used as an alternative space for drinks receptions. The adjoining exhibition space showcases over 300 objects from the Shipley’s craft and design collection and makes a wonderful setting for drinks and canapés.
